WavyBlue History

 

Based on the south coast, the WavyBlue artist-led initiative was established in the summer of 2004 by artists Miriam Troth and Diane Roberts .

Coastal bike rides alongside the sand while formulating ideas about the practical business of being an artist led to the idea of creating WavyBlue.

2006

Initial discussions resulted in the 'Laid Bare' exhibition and the 'Bare Faced' open forum, at the Theatre Royal Winchester in spring 2006.

WavyBlue was awarded a Bournemouth Art Grant with added support from the Art's Council England for its first major collaborative project, Urbanflow (Infiltrate), part one of a three part project which took place in the summer of 2006 in the Bournemouth central gardens.

2007

London Oval House Theatre Exhibition :

A group exhibition by members of  WavyBlue  at London's Oval House Theatre.

Mobile Gallery:

An exhibition, curated by Miriam Troth and Diane Roberts, of A4  artworks by  national and international artists   displayed at various venues around Bournemouth and surrounding districts in the summer of 2007.

The main event was the Larmer Tree Festival. Visitors were intrigued by the concept of a mobile gallery.

 

2008

Bournemouth Art Grant award for Nights at the Opera House.

Opera House Memories exhibition at the central Bournemouth library.

Illustrated talk on Bournemouth theatres and Streets of Bournemouth.

Illustrated presentation on Mary Shelley at Boscombe library
